KICK-BOXING WORLD CHAMPION IN OUR MIDST
Sean O' Hare in 1 Columcille can take a bow after his victory in the Kick-boxing World Championships in Portugal over the mid-term break. He managed to scoop the top prize in his age category and now can call himself a World Champion in kick-boxing.
Sean and a number of his colleagues from Dundalk's Kobra Khan Kick-boxing Club made the journey to Portugal in the last week in October. There they competed in the tournament that took place over a period of five days.
Sean made it past the elimination rounds and finally faced an American kick-boxing champion in the final. His opponent was Christopher Gorham but Sean's superior kick-boxing skills relegated this American hero to second place. Third place went to another Irish Kick-boxer by the name of Evan Conlon from Dublin and Sean also picked up a bronze medal in the team event so all round it was a great week's work for Ireland's young kick-boxers.
