On the 24th and 25th of March 2011, the Transition Year Class under the careful watch of Environmental and Social Studies Teacher, Ms McGrane and TY Business Studies teacher Ms McBreen visited Tanagh Outdoor Adventure Centre for two days of fun activities and the study of rivers.
When the class arrived at Tanagh, they immediately were split up into two teams and participated in many (muddy) team building tasks.
The class also conducted a river study where they took various measurements including the width, depth and velocity of a meander in the Dromore River. Later, we presented our results on graphs.
Later, the class ventured for a night walk into the dark Dartree Forest to listen to exciting tales about ghosts and the dark history of the area!
On the second and last day, the class navigated the extensive waterways while canoeing along 7km of the Dromore River. Overall, the class had a great time at the centre, which will be remembered for years to come.
