De La Salle Student wins title of
"Key Programme Entrepreneur 2009"
and a trip to the famed McMaster University, Canada.

De La Salle student Ronan Coyne was one of only fourteen students from Ireland chosen to attend the 39th jaX Conference in McMaster University over the summer holidays. Each delegate participated in courses which dealt with management issues and finances, they also tackled human resource affairs and were given a opportunity to prove their marketing skills!
As Ronan describes: "Being the first people to arrive, we were given the opportunity to explore the fabulous campus and to meet the staff we would be working with over the week. The jaX week officially began on the 8th of August, a day we got to meet the other international students who would be in our group.
The week involved a lot of fun and fantastic experiences as we got to know and work with students from all over the world. The serious side of our stay in Canada came in the form of workshops and lectures. The purpose of the workshops was to assist us in setting up the presentations we were required to do on the various courses we studied.
After a 'stressful' week of fun, and a little study, t-shirts were autographed and contact information was exchanged. It all finished on a high note, a disco in what looked suspiciously like a disused army bunker! Later that evening, the group's banner was divided into 24 pieces, one of which everyone took so that they could remember the jaX experience".
