Maths Week '08

We held a number of events during the 3rd annual Maths Week Oct 10-18th.
Maths was promoted in imaginative and fun ways. Activities included games, workshops, puzzles and quizzes, with a number of these activities involving the whole school. Our transition year class enjoyed a workshop in DKIT led by Dr. Jennifer Piggott, a lecturer from Cambridge. The workshop was based on the art of problem solving and all our students participated fully.
The aim of the week is to increase confidence in Maths and show students that maths can be interesting and plays a vital role in everyday life. Below is a photograph of two of our prizewinners.
