DSI Debating Competition



De la Salle Boys who battled it out against Castleblaney College in the first round of DSI Debating Competition recently. After a very informative and thought provoking debate entitled "Self Testing is the Future for Health Management" the boys impressed the three independent judges sufficiently to emergered victorious. They will now travel to Dublin to debate the ethical issues involved in stem cell research with Santa Sabina College Sutton on the 9th Feb.
DSI - Debating Science Issues - is a new, dynamic competition which invites young people to engage in debate on the cultural, societal & ethical implications of advances in biomedical science. It is open to students in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Funded by the Wellcome Trust it is and co-ordinated by 7 research, medical and science centers in Ireland.
