DeLa Dippers Strike Again!
On Sunday 6th of December 2009 a group of 30 erstwhile students of the De La Salle braved the inhospitable waters of Carlingford Lough in an attempt to raise funds for a sister De La Salle school in Kenya and St. Vincent de Paul.
The swim commenced at 2.30pm at the Carlingford sailing club, a change of venue from previous years. Chattering teeth, purple skin and brain freeze were the orders of the day but all students felt that the endeavour was more than worthwhile.
The Dip was organised again this year by Ms. Cara McAdam and Mr. Glen Holmes who were overwhelmed by the supreme efforts of the students involved and the generous sponsorship of their friends and family. The staggering amount raised was in excess of €1600 and will go directly to St. Mary's De La Salle in Kenya and Dundalk St. Vincent de Paul.
