England Trip

It was early on the 26th March with a travelling party of over 70 that we headed off for our annual trip to England. It wasn't long before we were all getting suited up for our paintball session at Go Ballistic on the Wirral. It was like a scene from "Saving Private Ryan" as the 1st year army tried to capture the flag. But despite their youthful enthusiasm it was Mr. Cumiskey (aka Rambo) who was victorious on this occasion.
From there we headed on to the Trafford Centre. I could barely believe my eyes as 70 teenagers descended on the shops like vultures. They literally shopped until they dropped; they were like "Indiana Jones" searching for that special discount in every shop.
The following morning we went for a tour around the home of football or Old Trafford as it`s commonly called. This was a truly inspiring spectacle and even Mr L O Connor who doesn't have any great interest in soccer felt goose bumps as he walked around the hallowed turf.
From there we travelled to the Reebok Stadium to watch Man Utd give Bolton Wanderers an almighty thrashing 4 -0. Even Berbatov scored two that day, not many can say they have witnessed that.
After a refreshing sleep we set out early on Sunday morning for the highlight of the trip - ALTON TOWERS. This proved a real hit with all the thrill seekers among us. The queue times were short so everybody went on more than their fair share of rides - me excluded of course, I had to make sure everyone else was looked after and didn`t get a chance to try any of the rides. Ah well maybe next year!!
So in summary, a wonderful time was had by all, students and teachers alike. I would just like to mention the excellent behaviour of our students while representing the school abroad and thank my fellow staff members for all their help while we were away.
My lasting memory of the trip - has to watching our students shop like a bunch of W.A.G.S
