Science Conference

On Thursday 5th May Ms. Nolan's first year science class went to Armagh for the Cross Border Schools Science Conference 2011.

We left the school at 8:45 and began our journey to Armagh. We arrived at 9:30 and made our way to the Royal School Armagh. We went into the hall, placed into our teams and took our seats. We were given an initial questionnaire and had 10 minutes to fill it out. Then a man named Robert Walsh showed us a slideshow on the sun. We then went across to the Observatory/ Planetarium site to the human orrery. Each group completed a questionnaire on the weather and another one on the human orrery.

We went into the planetarium to watch the Planetarium show, which lasted for 35 minutes.
Then we filled in another question sheet on the Planetarium. We had lunch in to the gym at the Royal School. From there we went back to the Hall to find out the answers to the questionnaires. The prizes we were given out and we made our way to the bus to go back to the school. It was a great day of learning.
