As part of the Lasallian World Project Charity Fundraiser, two teachers from the De La Salle in Dundalk, Miss Hoyne and Mr Cumiskey, organised a charity 12 hour game of soccer which began at 8pm on Friday 25th and finished at 8am on Saturday 26th March. There were 12 teams of 5 students which participated in this event throughout the night, and if students were not playing football they were catching up on some much needed sleep! It was an action packed night and with over €1500 raised; it was a great boost to the De La Salle's target figure of €10,000. Even the teachers donned their soccer gear for a teacher's match which took place at midnight. The quality of football seemed to drop between the hours of four and six but with the end in sight and a quick game of dodgeball to lift the spirits the event finished on a high.
At 8.10 everyone had vacated the building and reports suggest it was the quietest Saturday in De La Salle history.
Huge thanks to everyone who participated and contributed.
